Pamir Trails, trekking agency since 1991, the only one running from Chapursan valley, managed by Alam Jan Dario, guide, musician and poet, organizes for you adventurous tours among these famous ranges : Karakoram, Indukush and Pamir.
The old baltit fort of Hunza, the trout of the Ghizar river, the Karakoram Highway (KKH) leading to Khunjerab pass, the chinese border, Gojal and the high valleys wakhi (chapursan and Shimshal) with very traditional way of life and many festival (Babagundi festival, Kuch in Shimshal, ...), the Shandur polo festival, the old city of Chitral facing the Tirich Mir, the kailasha valley, the 8000 m high peak of Baltistan (K2, Gasherbrum, Broad Peak, ...) 
The five deep-blue lakes of Band-e-amir, « dam of the god », the tomb of Ali in the north bigest city Mazar-i-sharif (mainly populated by ouzbek poeple), Balkh the ancient capital of Bactrian, the Wakhan corridor, designed by a geograph to separate the russian and english ambition at the end of the 19 th century, is a big valley. Today, the sleepy river Amou daria (oxus df the ancient), is the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, lined to the south by the Indukush range (some summit exceed 7000 m) and to the north by the southest summit of the Pamir (Karl Marx peak, 6500 m). It is the heart of the wakhi culture. 
The russian turkestan, the high plateau of Pamir and the central range, where the highest summit esceed 7000 m) is still very remote. The eastern part, populated by the half-nomad kyrgiz, is an altitude desert, only crossed by the Pamir Highway, a rough track, the westren part (Gorno-Badarkhsan) is more alpine style cut by deep and narrow valley, as the bartang, populated by Pamiris. The south is the wakhan corridor populated by wakhi.
